Care Brief is a caregiving organization tool that helps you track symptoms, medications, and care activities for yourself or loved ones. We understand this information is sensitive and treat it with the utmost care.

2.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Email address and display name when you create an account
- Care Recipient Data: Names, conditions, medications, and other health-related information you choose to enter
- Log Entries: Symptoms, incidents, notes, and other care-related information you record
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device Information: Device type, operating system version
- Usage Data: Features used, timestamps (for improving the app)
- Crash Reports: Technical information to help us fix bugs
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Location data
- Contacts
- Photos (unless you explicitly attach them)
- Biometric data
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the Care Brief service
- Generate care summary PDFs for your doctor visits
- Sync your data across your devices
- Send important service updates (not marketing)
- Improve the app based on usage patterns
- Respond to support requests
We do NOT: Sell your data to third parties. Use your health data for advertising. Share your information with data brokers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase, which provides:
- Encryption in transit (TLS/SSL)
- Encryption at rest
- SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 compliance
- ISO 27001 certification
We implement strict access controls so that you can only access your own data.
5. Data Sharing
We share your data only with:
- Service Providers: Firebase (database), RevenueCat (subscriptions) - under strict data processing agreements
- Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect rights and safety
We do not share your health data with any third parties for their own purposes.
6. Your Rights and Choices
You have the right to:
- Access: View all data we have about you
- Export: Download your data via PDF summaries
- Delete: Delete your account and all associated data
- Correct: Update any inaccurate information

7. Data Retention
We retain your data as long as your account is active. When you delete your account:
- All personal data is deleted within 30 days
- Anonymized usage analytics may be retained
- Backup copies are purged within 90 days
8. Children's Privacy
Care Brief is designed for adult caregivers. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.
9. International Data Transfers
Your data may be processed in the United States where our service providers are located. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for any international transfers.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by:
- Posting the new policy in the app
- Updating the "Last updated" date
- Sending an email for significant changes
